GERMANY EV BATTERY SWAPPING MARKET
INTRODUCTION
An electric car battery that has been completely discharged is swapped out for a fully charged battery at a battery swapping station.
These charging stations serve as battery aggregators, providing the infrastructure for a number of batteries to be kept in a state of charging before being made available to users of electric vehicles.
At these stations, customers or drivers can easily swap out their depleted batteries for fully charged ones, and they may do so as frequently as they’d want without having to wait long.
The expansion of the electric vehicle battery swapping system market is anticipated to be primarily driven by the rising number of electric vehicles worldwide and the lengthy wait times for charging automobiles.
GERMANY EV BATTERY SWAPPING MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Germany EV Battery Swapping Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2027.
GERMANY EV BATTERY SWAPPING MARKET NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
A new battery-change service has been introduced by German battery-electric vehicle (BEV) maker e.GO Mobile, enabling customers to swap out nearly-drained batteries for fully charged ones. According to the startup, there are just a handful of businesses providing this sort of service.
With the exchange operation anticipated to take 60 minutes, the business promises quick service—faster than utilising a typical public charging station. e.GO Mobile wants to reduce this to 30 minutes in the future.
In two sites in the German municipalities of Aachen and Zülpich, the first battery-swap stations, known as the “e.Pit,” are now fully functioning. Additionally, e.GO Mobile intends to establish battery-swap locations in the major cities of Düsseldorf and Hamburg.
GERMANY EV BATTERY SWAPPING MARKET DYNAMICS
An agreement to collaborate on the expansion of charging and battery swapping stations in China and Europe was announced by the oil giant Royal Dutch Shell and the Chinese electric vehicle company Nio. Co-branded battery swapping stations are part of the agreement’s network.
The deal also involves possible cooperation initiatives for battery asset management, fleet management, a membership programme, home charging services, technical advancement, and a charging network in China.
The manufacturer has also been concentrating on technology in the future, having recently hinted at a next-generation battery swapping system as well as a battery pack for leasing.
The two businesses want to “explore” potential locations for prototype battery swapping stations before expanding from there.
