The use of a conventional, manually operated aircraft-style thermal circuit breaker, such as the E-T-A types 4120 or 483, allows for low current remote switching, allowing the 4930 to be placed close to the system it is protecting while also significantly reducing the need for wiring harnesses and weight.
To switch the contacts, the E-T-A 4930 uses an integrated bi-stable linear motor. It will synchronise with the 4120/483 circuit breaker and reflect the status of the controlling circuit breaker in terms of ON/OFF status.
