    Trioworld launches recycled food packaging with Lidl Sweden.When Lidl debuts the cutting-edge solution with their cinnamon buns and cardamom buns in Sweden, Trioworld is launching the first post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic film, approved for frozen food packaging.

     

    A ground-breaking revolutionary multi-layer Loop packaging that revolutionises food packaging has been created by Trioworld.

     

    The goal of the research, which was started in collaboration with RISE and Lidl Future Initiatives (LFI), was to create a PCR-containing reusable food contact material.

     

    The technology behind Trioworld’s solution is a novel five-layer idea that has passed all the necessary simulations and testing mandated by the European Regulations for Food Contact Material.

     

    The packaging is entirely recyclable and contains 30% recycled PCR. As a packaging option for the cinnamon buns and cardamom buns from Lidl Sweden, which reached the shelves this week, it will be put to use for the first time on a commercial scale.

     

    Trioworld has established itself as a market leader in sustainable flexible packaging thanks to its innovation. Lidl can choose a packaging option from Trioworld’s multi-layer Loop that is not only completely recyclable but also contains 30% post-consumer recycled material, lowering their carbon impact.

     

    Trioworld is currently working to create thinner multi-layer Loop film for new culinary application sectors with a goal of reaching a 50% recycled plastic content in their goods within a few years.
