This lens offers a distortion-free super wide field of vision. The user can adjust the field of view from wide angle to ultra wide thanks to the varifocal lens. The installer can fully benefit from the high resolution of HDTV and multi-megapixel cameras thanks to this high-quality lens.
A proprietary component in the lens enables an extra wide field of view without barrel distortion. The improved resolution at the image’s edges made possible by the rectilinear architecture raises the likelihood of detection. 1.8 to 3.0 mm is the focal length, and the quick aperture.
An ultra wide-angle varifocal lens is a lens whose focal length is shorter than that of an average wide-angle lens, providing an even wider view. The term denotes a different range of lenses, relative to the size of the sensor in the camera.
Global ultrawide varifocal lenses market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
With the release of its new varifocal model, Theia Technologies announced the expansion of its line of ultra wide angle, no distortion, megapixel lenses.
With its new SL183 varifocal lens, Theia has made use of its proprietary, highly regarded Linear Optical Technology platform to provide complete optical distortion correction. The lens will have a horizontal field of vision of between 77 and 115 degrees and is designed for 1/3″, 1/2.7″, and up to 1/ 2.5″ image sensors.
Theia’s reputation for providing high-caliber megapixel lenses to the security sector and enabling clear, high-resolution images from megapixel cameras is strengthened by the release of the new SL183 five megapixel lens. Compared to standard wide lenses, which compress the image and lose information, Theia’s lenses offer enhanced resolution at the image’s edges. This raises the likelihood that things at the edge of the image will be recognised.
In comparison to the increased number of cameras needed with other not-quite-as-wide lenses, the 115° wide field of view enables coverage of more area with one camera, decreasing bandwidth, storage requirements, and installation costs of the entire system. Without the aid of any software, Theia’s Linear Optical Technology optically corrects the barrel or fisheye distortion typical of other wide lenses.
