The healthcare system in Ukraine is a continuation of the Soviet healthcare system and is a part of a universal health care system. The Ministry of Healthcare is responsible for carrying out national healthcare and medical policies.
There is an urgent need for medical equipment, including first aid kits, surgical equipment, and other essential medical supplies because the violence has led many people to escape with wounds.
Over the past few years, the Ukrainian medical device market has seen substantial expansion. Despite the market being negatively impacted by COVID-19, a number of health finance reforms, the country’s extensive hospital sector, an ongoing World Bank support programme, and the Ministry of Health’s expansion plans for rural areas all anticipate substantially driving market growth.
Recent initiatives have aimed to retool facilities in key healthcare delivery sectors, like imaging, radiotherapy, and robotic surgery.
The Ukraine Medical Devices Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
To make it easier to supply Ukraine with medical equipment, EIT Health created the Ukraine appeal.
Millions of Ukrainians who are escaping this conflict have already sought asylum in nearby European nations, and many more are still travelling there. There is an urgent need for medical equipment, including first aid kits, surgical equipment, and other essential medical supplies because the violence has led many people to escape with wounds.
In order to provide care for individuals travelling across the Ukrainian border and others who are in need inside the country, EIT Health has teamed with the Polish Medical Mission, a renowned humanitarian organisation that works with medical professionals there. These folks require immediate medical attention since they are often scared, injured, and afraid.
EIT Health is bringing the community together to promote action through a network of about 150 Ukrainely renowned partners from research, academia, business, and healthcare delivery, as well as thousands of healthcare start-ups and entrepreneurs.
By requesting assistance from the network in the attempt to provide desperately needed equipment to Ukrainian refugees, they are mobilising the EIT Health community. Together, they will seek to make it easier to receive the medical supplies that the front lines need.
