    MARKET DYNAMICS

The Marine Corps’ CH-53K King Stallion heavy lift helicopter was last week designated suitable for full-rate manufacturing by the U.S. Navy, enabling the Marines to treble their annual purchases of the aircraft over the next three years.  The performance and dependability of this aircraft have been satisfactorily shown by the service. With FRP, they’ll keep advancing the CH-53K’s solid manufacturing, sustainment, and support infrastructure.

To accommodate this enhanced production pace at its Connecticut factory, it has already purchased long-lead products and essential components. More than 200 businesses spread throughout 35 states make up the supplier base. The Marine Corps can expand its CH-53K King Stallion fleet and boost mission success by ramping up manufacturing of the most technologically advanced helicopter in the world.

This production authorization helps to maintain the stability of Sikorsky’s domestic supply chain and demonstrates our steadfast relationship with the Marine Corps.

Six low-rate initial production contracts for 42 aircraft have been given to Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin business. Lots 7 and 8, the first two lots under full-rate production, have already been given long-lead contracts by the service. The Marine Corps announced first operational capability for the helicopter in April, indicating that the organisation has the necessary training, supplies, and spare parts to support the helicopter’s maiden deployment.
