INTRODUCTION
The 5Mp image sensor is equipped with Aptian’s ground-breaking low-noise CMOS imaging technology, which maintains the inherent benefits of CMOS in terms of size, cost, and integration while achieving CCD image quality based on signal-to-noise ratio and low-light sensitivity.
5Mp Image sensors all serve the same function, which is to transform incoming light photons into an electrical signal that may be viewed, examined, or recorded. One of the most crucial parts of a machine vision camera is its image sensor, a solid-state device.
5MP IMAGE SENSOR MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Global 5mp image sensor market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
5MP IMAGE SENSOR MARKET NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
The OV5690, the first 5-megapixel image sensor to leverage Omni Vision’s exclusive OmniBSI-2-pixel architecture, was launched by Omni Vision Technologies, Inc., a pioneer in the development of cutting-edge digital imaging systems.
A good option for thinner mobile handsets, smart phones, and tablet computers, the new 1.4-micron backside illumination pixel supports a full five megapixels in a 1/4-inch optical format and combines best-in-class image quality with a 20 percent reduction in camera module height.
The OV5690 offers cutting-edge capabilities like 1080p high definition of video recording at 30 frames per second, an inbuilt scaler, and 2 x 2 binning functionality with a resampling filter.
It is based on Omni Vision’s effective second-generation OmniBSI-2 technology. In 720p and 1080p HD video modes, the scaler supports electronic picture stabilization while preserving a complete field of view, and enables digital video zoom functionality for HD video.
For 720p/60 HD video in binning mode, the OV5690’s post-binning re-sampling filter reduces spatial artifacts and eliminates image artifacts around edges, resulting in clear, crisp color images.
With a z-height below 5 mm and a conventional 2-lane MIPI/LVDS interface, the sensor is approximately 20% smaller than current industry-leading 1/3.2-inch 5-megapixel image sensors. It also fits within the usual 8.5 x 8.5 mm module footprint.
