    Agrokultura Group and new partner Svetogor collaborate on Philips Lighting’s first Russian LED cucumber project.  With the help of Agrokultura Group, LLC and its new business partner Svetogor, Philips Lighting (Euronext: LIGHT), the market leader in lighting, has constructed its first LED grow light project for cucumber growing in Russia.

    About 4,000 hours of lighting are used in their cucumber greenhouse from September to April. The profitability of the greenhouse might be greatly increased by lowering the electricity expenses for their lighting system.

     

    We will need to know the return on investment they obtain during the experiment to decide whether or not to convert their entire 30 hectares of greenhouse to LED illumination. They have chosen to work with Philips Lighting because of its superior technological products and capacity to deliver sizable orders in a short amount of time.
