A vehicle’s ADAS system contains a specialized electronic component called a car radar processor, sometimes referred to as a radar signal processor or radar signal controller. It is intended to decipher and analyses the signals obtained from radar sensors mounted on the front, sides, or back of the vehicle.
The processor’s main job is to identify objects, determine their locations, rates, and trajectories, and then communicate this data to other ADAS system components for additional evaluation and decision-making.

CubTEK can take advantage of its earlier work on 4D imaging radar with NXP’s S32R45 thanks to the scalable radar platform of highly integrated CPUs and radar one-chip from NXP, which offers a high degree of architecture compatibility and software reuse.
The NXP S32R41 radar processor is capable of handling advanced corner radar applications for both passenger cars and commercial vehicles, like CubTEK’s BSIS, as well as high-resolution long-range radar applications.
The architecture uses high-performance SPT (Signal Processing Toolbox) and Cadence BBE32 DSP radar processing accelerators to establish an ideal processing chain and offers functional safety levels up to ASIL D in accordance with ISO 26262. High angular resolution radar systems are made possible by the high-performance processing ability with dual MIPI CSI2 interfaces and 8 MB of local SRAM.
