    For use in heating processes, a novel heating medium containing 1,1-diphenyl ethane is offered. This heating medium has a high boiling point, a low melting point, and strong thermal stability.


    It can be used in a wide variety of temperatures and is quickly broken down by microbes. The oily by-products from the stage of separating ethylbenzene from poly alkyl benzenes in the process of making ethyl benzene from the reaction of benzene and ethylene may be used to make the heating medium in concern.


    The steps in a method for making 1,1-diphenyl ethane include reacting ethylene and benzene to produce ethyl benzene and high boiling byproducts, fractionally distilling said higher boiling byproducts, and recovering a fraction that primarily includes 1,1-diphenyl ethane.

    Steps for coupling stilbenes and aryl bromides in the Heck reaction

    The isolated yields were achieved using greater scale, whereas the GC yields were obtained using 0.5 mmol of olefin
