The information can be quickly viewed in a mobile app and readily shared with a doctor or relative. According to Aktiia, this automated method frees patients from having to measure their blood pressure every day so they can concentrate on improving their cardiovascular health.

In January of last year, the blood pressure monitoring system got CE-mark certification as a Class IIa medical equipment. It is  sold in seven European nations. A historic hypertension trial was announced by Aktiia in association with Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in the US.
