    Mitsui Chemicals has established a bio-polyol joint venture in India. Mitsui Chemicals & SKC Polyurethanes’ (MCNS) new joint venture bio-polyol production firm, Vithal Castor Polyols (VCP), was officially launched in India.

     

    VCP will create and distribute cost-effective bio-polyols based on castor oil imported from India, where 80 percent of the world’s castor oil is generated from non-edible plants, assuring a consistent feedstock supply. The new manufacturing unit, with an annual capacity of 8,000 tonnes, began commercial production of bio-polyols.

     

    MCNS intends to increase sales in automotive applications by leveraging its strong system house network, which includes nine Asian locations, including those in Japan and South Korea, as well as three facilities in the Americas and Europe.

     

    System houses are critical manufacturing and distribution facilities where manufacturing recipes are developed.
