AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE (AGV) SENSOR MARKET

    INTRODUCTION

Sensors are a crucial component of mobile robots (AGV and AMR). Mobile robots’ “eyes and ears” are sensors. The incredibly powerful mobile robots we have today would not exist without effective, trustworthy, and reasonably priced sensors.

For its fundamental operations, such as navigation, guidance, safety, material handling, obstacle avoidance, etc., mobile robots depend on a wide variety of sensors. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) are portable, cooperative vehicles that travel the same roads as manned industrial trucks and pedestrians.

Safety laser scanners, which must adhere to the strictest safety regulations, are the most significant sensors under this category. To keep people safe in these conditions, dependable person detecting devices are needed.

AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE (AGV) SENSOR  MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST

The Global Automated guided vehicle ( AGV) sensor market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.

AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE (AGV) SENSOR MARKET DYNAMICS

Nidec-Shimpo Corporation has stated that it would soon start shipping a new model of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) that has a “Follow-Me” feature.

This model is the following in the company’s S-CART series. The business has also created a unique new model with a “Return-To-Home” feature and a model intended to transport a maximum weight of 500 kg.

The guideless navigation AGV “S-CART” (100 kg payload version) from Nidec-Shimpo, which debuted earlier and has been modified with a feature that enables it track and follow a person or object, is the foundation of the new model that the business will introduce.

On the other hand, the recently created S-CART model with the “Return-To-Home” function has the ability to automatically generate a path towards and back to a selected “home” location.

AUTOMATED GUIDED VEHICLE (AGV) SENSOR MARKET NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

Launched by Elettric80, SmartDect is a new ultra-wideband technology. In order to improve safety by more precisely locating people, objects, and assets, the company has integrated ultra-wideband technology into its automated-guided vehicle and laser-guided vehicle fleets.

The safe operation of these systems is of utmost importance because AGVs (automated-guided vehicles) and LGVs (laser-guided vehicles) operate unmanned over vast areas in manufacturing and distribution. Elettric80 has continuously improved its AGVs and LGVs to meet or exceed established international standards for positioning, protection, and controls.

Elettric80’s AGVs and LGVs are equipped with UWB sensors that can detect potential impact hazards up to a distance of 15 meters away, even behind objects. When this happens, the unmanned vehicle is alerted and starts to slow down until it stops or, if the situation is safe, continues on its projected path.

Automated guided vehicles transport cargo from point A to point B. The separations are easily adaptable. As a result, the production system is very adaptable. High demands are placed on safety and dynamics. especially when multiple vehicles are being used simultaneously.

Smooth operation and collision avoidance depend on intelligent sensor solutions. The vehicles are secured by safety laser scanners. High-resolution dynamic sensors from Leuze provide the information needed for the AGVs’ exact navigation. Optical and inductive sensors keep an eye on the proper pick-up and transfer of the goods.

The RSL 400 safety laser scanner can switch between up to 100 field pairs and has a 270° scanning range. As a result, the protective field can be adjusted to the transportation path and speed in the best possible way. With an absolute accuracy of 2 mm, the AMS 300i laser positioning system transmits measurement data every 2 ms.

There are many different interfaces through which the data can be sent to the control. The HT 3C series diffuse sensors have precise switching points and operate independently of the material. The same sensors can be used for precise positioning of a compartment thanks to two digital switching outputs.

The maximum working distance of the IS 212 series inductive sensors for metal object detection is 10 mm. The durable metal housing effectively shields the devices from the elements and cleaning agents.

An inspection AGV at a power plant uses a controller unit from Neousys Technology’s Nuvo-5501 series. Infrared sensors, machine vision, and magnetic/tape guidance technologies are all equipped with the AGV. The power plant can avoid exposure to hostile environments by replacing manual field inspections with an AGV.
