Industrialized countries are now taking a more proactive stance against climate change. The automobile manufacturing sector is one of the areas where action was required.
Since the number of cars is increasing rapidly and the air quality is subpar, switching to a more environmentally friendly form of transportation becomes the key goal of the current automotive business. Electric and hybrid cars are becoming more and more common in this regard.
The Azerbaijan Electric Vehicle Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
The Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry and the Energy Ministry recently organised a rally with electric and hybrid vehicles with the help of the Azerbaijan Automobile Federation and ISR Holding.
For the import or manufacture of electric or hybrid vehicles, the sale of replacement parts, batteries, and chargers for them, the development of urban charging infrastructure, etc., several nations across the world are adopting customs and tax preferences. Additionally, Azerbaijan keeps moving in the direction of a green economy and national promotion of hybrid and electric vehicles.
The car rally continued from Gobustan to the Hybrid Power Station with the goal of encouraging the adoption of environmentally friendly vehicles.
The participants in this demonstration saw a presentation that covered topics like how much of the energy sector's carbon emissions are attributable to other sectors, how to reduce emissions into the atmosphere, how to produce electricity with less conventional fuel, how to use renewable energy sources, and more.
Around 150 electric vehicles were imported into Azerbaijan in the first half of the year, which is a 4 times increase over the same period last year. Despite this, barely 0.5% of the nation's imported cars are electric vehicles.
