This new Bluetooth 5 current sensor platform, which is based on Laird Connectivity's expertise in developing long-range Bluetooth current sensors, transforms wired sensors into battery-operated, IP67-rated wireless nodes that provide robust and secure messaging.

 

The BT610 provides full Bluetooth 5 capabilities for a wide range of remote monitoring applications thanks to the BL654 (Nordic nRF52840) Bluetooth module from Laird Connectivity.

 

The BT610 has a wide variety of interface options, including general purpose analog inputs, digital input/output, I2C, SPI, and UART, making it hardware-level compatible with virtually any external sensor that is used in the industry.

 

Customers can use the BT610 as a hardware platform by using either the Nordic nRF Connect SDK or Zephyr RTOS to create their own custom applications that meet their specific needs, or they can use the BT610's ready-to-deploy application software.

 

The native software is made to work with analog inputs (0-10 VDC or 4-20 mA), digital inputs and outputs, and a variety of sensor cable assemblies—thermistor, AC current, pressure, or ultrasonic—that Laird Connectivity has made available with the BT610.

 

The BT610 is a highly adaptable, four-port I/O sensor platform that can be used for a wide range of applications, including tank level monitoring, HVAC monitoring, single/three-phase induction motor current sensing, and cold chain monitoring. 

 

Users of each of these configurations can configure alarm events and read and report sensor data to the cloud through the associated Android or iOS mobile app, ensuring that customers never miss important events.
