The Cape Verde Islands, also referred to as Cabo Verde or the "Green Cape," are located in West Africa not far from the coast of Senegal.
The warm, tropical atmosphere, volcanic islands, talented musicians, and delectable food of Cape Verde are well known.
A form of transportation that runs on electricity is known as an electric vehicle (EV). Electric cars and trucks use an electric motor that is powered by electricity from batteries or a fuel cell, as opposed to traditional vehicles that use a gasoline (petrol) or diesel-powered engine.
The government of Cabo Verde has identified the promotion of electric vehicles as a strategy for lowering greenhouse gas emissions associated with road transportation and increasing the amount of renewable energy in the energy mix.
The Cabo Verde Electric Vehicle Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
In a virtual conference last month, the NAMA Support Project "Promotion of Electric Mobility in Cabo Verde," also known locally by its Portuguese acronym ProMEC, was formally introduced.
The project will significantly aid in the implementation of Cabo Verde's Electric Mobility Policy and Action Plan, the Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Industry.
The government is encouraging the use of electric cars to reduce carbon emissions in the road transportation industry, which "absorbs around 30% of the total domestic consumption of imported fossil fuels."
The government intends to promote smart charging as well as the use of EV batteries for supporting the grid integration of higher shares of renewable energy using vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology in the future.
