The Cabo Verde government has set a target of replacing all of the country’s automobiles with electric models.
Imported fossil fuels will be replaced with locally produced electricity from renewable energy sources in the transportation sector.
By doing this, the government hopes to lessen the strain on its trade balance while also lowering greenhouse gas emissions, noise pollution, and air pollution.
The initiative provides financial incentives to promote the purchase of electric vehicles and the creation of a network of public charging stations.
Additionally, it aids in enhancing the legal framework, promoting electric mobility, and bolstering the necessary stakeholders.
The legal foundation for running public charging stations is being constructed in order to make this viable. In order to support the sustainable usage of electric vehicles, other rules and regulations are also being modified.
The project has already been instrumental in ensuring that electric vehicles can be imported into Cabo Verde duty-free. For electric vehicle charging stations and wires, the same has been true.
The Cabo Verde EV Charger Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
Cabo Verde’s government has launched a tender for the installation of electric vehicle charging stations.
The Promotion of Electric Mobility in Cabo Verde (ProMEC) project’s International Public Tender for the selection of a concessionaire for the installation and operation of charging stations for electrical vehicles in the Build, Own, Operate, and Transfer (B.O.O.T.) modality was announced by the government of Cabo Verde.
The primary goals of the project are to accelerate compliance with the objectives set forth in the Electric Mobility Charter (CPME) and in the Electric Mobility Action Plan, reduce the emission of fossil fuels and greenhouse gases, and achieve a significant share of electrical vehicles (EVs) in Cabo Verde’s car park (PAME).
The implementation of a rebate programme for EVs, the development of a public charging station network, the testing of electric buses for public transportation, the creation of favourable legal and regulatory frameworks for EVs and EV charging, the expansion of capacity for various target groups, and the tracking of avoided greenhouse gas emissions are all included.
