The cast iron shell is strong, durable, and can withstand beatings; in comparison, the aluminium shell is soft and easily scars on the surface. Cast iron has several advantages over steel, including improved corrosion resistance, castability, and homogeneous hardness and structure across the cross section.
Tasso cast iron can also provide significant weight savings due to its low density of 7,3 kg/dm3. Cast-iron cookware retains and distributes heat just as well as some of the most expensive cookware, making it an affordable option.
The Global cast iron motor frame market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Nidec Motor Corporation Introduces New US MOTORS® Brand Cast Iron 6812 Frame Vertical TEFC Motor Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) today introduced the U.S. MOTORS® brand cast iron frame 6812 vertical totally enclosed, fan cooled (TEFC) motor, which is intended for use in the desalination, water/wastewater, mining, oil and gas industries.
The 6812 motor is a tubeless fan-cooled design that reduces service requirements when compared to tube-cooled motors that can become clogged by airborne debris. Nidec is the sole manufacturer of this large frame TEFC with a ball type non-reverse ratchet. Ball type ratchets are a more proven and robust design that requires less service and downtime in critical applications.
When compared to a welded, fabricated motor, the all-cast iron construction, including the frame and end-brackets, reduces construction variations and results in a more reliable motor. Mechanical variability is also reduced (including Reed Critical Frequency). The one-piece frame facilitates assembly and reduces lead time.
To meet growing industry demands, they have increased the horsepower range of their TEFC vertical motors from 700 to 2000 HP in the last two years. “End users continue to seek reliable, higher horsepower motors in smaller frames, and the 6812 absolutely meets these demands.”Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC) is a leading manufacturer of motors and controls for commercial, industrial, and appliance applications.
