Gear grinders are finishing equipment that grind the surface of the gear (workpiece) teeth with a high-speed rotating grinding wheel. Continuous generation grinders and profile grinders are the two primary categories of gear grinders. Precision gear grinding is a finishing procedure in gear manufacture that uses abrasive wheels to erase tiny differences on gear teeth.
It is commonly acknowledged to be the most precise method of finishing a high precision gear, providing a more precise tooth polish than gear cutting. Lapping is accomplished by using an abrasive mixture to create friction between the lap plate and the workpiece. Grinding, on the other hand, is a machining operation that smoothens a surface with an abrasive wheel.
The Global CNC gear grinding machine market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
Helios launches the Hera 200 CNC Gear Hobbing Machine. Helios Gear Products offers the Helios Hera 200 CNC gear hobbing machine exclusively. With its siblings, the models 150, 350, and 500, this YG Tech machine offers vertical hobbing solutions to gear makers. The model 200 rounds out the Hera series’ fine- to medium-pitch range with the same level of established technology.
They are thrilled to provide the new Helios Hera 200 to North American gear producers in need of an updated, cost-effective, lucrative hobbing platform for gears up to roughly 8 inches – all backed by 30+ years of local service knowledge.”
The Hera 200 has 6 Fanuc CNC axes (7 with automation), a pitch rating of 4 modules (6.35 DP), and a maximum hob speed of 1,200 rpm. This combination is mounted on a base that can accommodate items up to 200 mm (7.874 in) in diameter and 530 mm (20.866 in) in length, with axial travel of up to 250 mm (9.840 in).
With a maximum hob shift of 180 mm (7.087 in), this machine is suitable for both short- and long-run operations. “The Hera 200 offers many of the great features found on a Hera 350, but in a more compact size with a smaller financial footprint,” said David Harroun, Vice President of Helios. Safety features include an electro-mechanical interlock and a splash guard door.
