An open, heated mould chamber is used in the moulding process known as compression moulding to receive a feeding material.
After that, the mould is sealed with a top plug and crushed using sizable hydraulic presses to ensure that the material contacts every part of the mould.
In the hot mould, the charge hardens. When a plastic material is immediately inserted into a heated metal mould, it is softened by the heat and compelled to take on the shape of the mould when the mould closes.
This process is known as compression moulding. Excess Flash can be removed once moulding is finished.
The Global Compression Molding Machine market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
High-rate compression moulding prepreg for major aeronautical structures Alpharetta, Georgia, — The market’s first technology, CYCOM® EP2750, from Solvay makes it possible to produce aircraft structural parts at a high rate and at a reasonable price.
This technique combines cutting-edge continuous fibre prepreg materials with an in-depth knowledge of the critical material and process properties necessary to achieve aerospace quality and performance using compression moulding processing technologies.
Several reinforcements are compatible with this innovative prepreg, which is appropriate for both primary and secondary structures. With a 30-minute talk time, the toughened CYCOM® EP2750 prepreg can produce complicated shapes because of its high notched compression qualities.
Access panels, rib-shapes, and C-frames are just a few examples of the tiny to medium sized parts that this new material has successfully produced. The technology is also suitable for military and air mobility platforms, as well as high-rate commercial aircraft programmes. This is due to the automated processing of CYCOM® EP2750.
And in the JEC Global Innovation Awards’ Aerospace category, this technology is one of three finalists. A corporation that specialises in speciality chemicals and innovative materials, Solvay is dedicated to creating chemistry that solves pressing societal problems.
Solvay innovates and collaborates with clients on a global scale in a wide range of end markets. Its goods are used to increase productivity and sustainability in mining, oil and gas extraction, automobiles, batteries, smart and medical gadgets, and aeroplanes.
