    CRANES MARKET NEW TECHNOLOGY

A1A Software to Demonstrate new Lift Planning and Business Management Products at 2023 ConExpo-Con/Agg.During ConExpo-Con/Agg, March 14–18, 2023 in Las Vegas, A1A Software LLC will release a number of standalone lift planning tools in the A1A Product Suite and also present a new edition of iCraneTrax.

The lift planning and asset management tools are intended to assist individuals in various jobs within the organisation of the crane provider in performing their duties at varying levels of complexity.

The company’s new lift planning A1A Product Suite is built on a 3D Lift Plan. The advent of standalone tools that may be used independently of 3D Lift Plan or in conjunction with it has increased the capabilities of the most well-known programme in the industry for producing bids, crucial lifts, rigging documentation, lift simulations, and more.

Digital records including all the data from A1A Product Suite applications may be transferred into the complete edition of 3D Lift Plan. The following applications will be part of the A1A Product Suite. Every programme will be accessible through the Apple programme Store, Google Play, or Microsoft. When obtaining initial worksite information, SketchPad removes the need for paper.

Create a sketch on a tablet to place the crane, the route it will take, and the locations of 3D items on a scaled Google Map picture. Using hundreds of pre-built 3D rigging loads and objects, Rigging Designer is a quicker method to develop bespoke rigging plans for cranes, gantries, forklifts, and other equipment.

Google 3D Buildings and Google Topography may be loaded into Jobsite Designer to create a more complete job site. Other capabilities, such as importing 3D AutoCAD files, will be introduced in the future to expand capability.

Crane Search does a rapid search of your fleet’s cranes to identify which ones are most suited to the job. Load Chart Viewer allows you to visually reference capacities and range diagrams by overlaying load chart data.

The Crane Loads Calculator assists in determining maximum outrigger loads. For the lifting scenario, the Mat Calculator is utilised to select crane pads and outrigger pads.

Furthermore, the latest edition of iCraneTrax has enhanced admin interfaces, increased drag and drop capabilities, improved interaction with accounting programmes, and other enhancements. iCraneTrax assists businesses in making the most use of their people and equipment assets in order to maximise earnings.

Crane rental firms may use it to manage client connections, make sales forecasts, stay on top of dispatch, fleet allocation, and maintenance, and generate work reports. It was designed with heavy equipment fleet owners in mind.

Since 2008, A1A Software has given heavy equipment fleet operators with highly powerful yet easy-to-use work planning and administration software products. Because the firm specialises in the crane and rigging sector, its tools are specifically created to fulfil the demands of this customer group.

Automation and remote crane operations prime new Swedish container terminal for the future.Hutchison Ports Stockholm built their new container terminal to the south of the Swedish capital, and as part of their ‘build for the future’ approach, they added two of the world’s largest dock cranes outfitted with ABB automation and remote operations technology.

In a highly competitive sector, the technology provides the dependability, predictability, and consistency terminal operators require.

Hutchison Ports is a global port operator with 52 container facilities spread over 26 countries. Its new Stockholm Norvik Port in Sweden has a natural deep-water draught located on the Baltic coast, and its proximity to Scandinavia’s fastest-growing area provides enormous business prospects.

The capacity of the Norvik terminal is now 250,000 TEU, with the possibility to increase to 500,000 TEU. Quay operations are carried out by two of the world’s largest quay cranes, which are equipped with automation and remote-control technologies to provide maximum efficiency for clients.

Hutchison Ports was allowed to design the full workflow from ship to gate as a greenfield facility, including on-dock rail services for transfer to the onward supply chain.

The goal of the Ports of Stockholm and Hutchison Ports Stockholm was to build a cutting-edge terminal with technology and furnishings that would be highly reliable and leave little carbon imprint.

This objective includes “machine-friendly” automation, which is perfect for a terminal of this size and allows for smoother operations with a lower chance of harm to goods and equipment.

While loading and unloading procedures are essentially the same regardless of terminal size, smaller terminals typically need more operational flexibility because of the wide range of vessel sizes they may handle. Quay cranes at Norvik serve a variety of vessels, from small barges to ships 22 wide.

Along with flexibility, workplace experience is another crucial consideration. The highly skilled stevedores from Hutchison Ports Stockholm rotate through all stages of the container flow at Norvik, working as multifaceted workers who can operate all types of terminal machinery.

Given the current strain on supply chains caused by labour shortages, bottlenecks, and limited predictability in liner services, implementing the most recent technologies can be quite advantageous for container ports.

Cranes can operate consistently, operating faster with reduced cycle and ramp times, regardless of the expertise and skill of individual operators, thanks to automation and remote operations capability. The main way that remote operations enhance operator performance is through increasing visibility with many camera viewpoints.

The size of ship-to-shore (STS) cranes has increased along with container ships, and particularly on larger cranes, the capabilities of the human eye is constrained by the physical distance between the cabin and the objective.

By physically removing them from the enormous machines and placing them in the security and comfort of a control room, remote operations help to enhance the working conditions for crane operators. A more adaptable workspace is also made possible by the control room.
