A magnetic field is generated around a conductor whenever current flows through it. This magnetic field is used by current transformers to gauge current flow.
A current sense transducer measures current and outputs a signal. In this instance, the measured current is translated into a proportionate output (milli-amp or voltage).
The following output types are available: 0 – 5Vdc, 0 – 10Vdc, 1Vac, or 0.333Vac. Software can then analyze the output range to generate a current reading.
Applications: Load trending, motor control, and fan/pump condition are among things that current sense transducers keep track of.Using a voltmeter to diagnose a transducer is the best way to determine whether it is functioning or not.
The Global current sense transducer market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
The current sense transducers of HBM’s CTS/CTM series use closed-loop, fluxgate technology that is industry standard. The maximum precision and least amount of drift are guaranteed by the second harmonic zero flux detection.
They can be employed with fast rise time signals like those found in electric drives or other inverter-based power applications thanks to the high-bandwidth support.
Any combination of up to six CTs can be supported by the interface unit’s 1U rack mount. a large range of 50 rooms to 1200 rooms1 or 2 ppm precision, working range: – 40°C to + 85°C,complete package including a connection cable, an interface unit, and load resistors,a power supply and interface unit for up to six transducers.
HBM sells all necessary extras, such as connection cables and an interface device to supply up to six current transducers.
