Watercraft that are propelled by electric motors rather than conventional gasoline engines are referred to as electric personal watercraft, also referred to as electric jet skis. They provide a less harmful alternative to conventional jet skis because they don’t release any pollutants or exhaust fumes into the water.
Batteries or fuel cells can be used to power electric personal watercraft. Fuel cell-powered jet skis can operate for extended periods of time before needing to be refuelled, but battery-powered electric jet skis normally have a limited range and need to be recharged after a few hours of operation.
Using electric personal watercraft has a number of benefits, including:Eco-friendly: Compared to conventional jet skis, electric personal watercraft emit no pollutants, making them a more ecologically responsible choice.
Reduced Noise: Compared to traditional jet skis, electric personal watercraft are substantially quieter, making them a viable option for use in places where noise pollution is an issue.
Reduced Maintenance: Electric motors require less maintenance and are generally more dependable because they have fewer moving parts than gasoline engines.
Cost-Effective: Although having a higher initial investment than conventional jet skis, electric personal watercraft are usually less expensive to operate over the long term.
Global electric personal watercraft market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
They had the opportunity to test out Taiga Motors’ Orca personal electric watercraft, which is essentially an electric jet ski, after it began shipping. On the water, it’s pure, unadulterated fun.
After testing their first electric snowmobile prototype, they have been keeping tabs on the Taiga team. Since putting their electric snowmobile into production, they are currently concentrating on developing their Orca personal electric boat.
Due to the similar size of snowmobiles and jet skis, Taiga created a compact yet reliable electric motor with a 120 kW output and a 24 kWh battery and fitted it in a newly designed two-seater personal watercraft.
The Taiga team is happy to celebrate the milestone of the first mass-produced electric watercraft that is now available to consumers as well as the start of the summer with Orca deliveries.
The breakthrough electric powertrain architecture they’ve spent years developing and testing in the water and on snow has finally reached its conclusion, radically altering how people interact with the environment.
