Along with introducing a “modernization” of its infrastructure management software, Ecostruxure IT, Schneider Electric has introduced a quicker prefabricated data centre solution in Europe. Under the “Easy Modular Data Center All-in-One” brand, Schneider will deliver prefabricated containerized data centres from 27kW to 80kW made in its Barcelona factory, with a streamlined ordering process.
Now, it’s possible to order containers from a straightforward catalogue list, and they can be delivered in as little as 12 weeks. The prefabricated Easy series of containers may be delivered in 12 weeks, are ISO standard sized, and are intended for Edge sites or smaller users.
They are currently being sold in Europe by Schneider’s Barcelona factory after being introduced in Asia, Latin America, and Africa with supplies from a manufacturing in Bangalore. In fact, the Barcelona manufacturer has already sent several devices to Latin America before the European launch.
According to Elliott Turek, offer & innovation leader for prefabricated modular solutions at Schneider, the boxes are now available on a configure-to-order (CTO) basis rather than engineer-to-order (ETO) basis, effectively moving to standardised configurations that can be bought from a catalogue.
