The digital crosspoint switch is widely regarded as the next-generation high-performance packet switch. Digital crosspoint switches are mostly used in packet switching and telephony to move data at a quicker rate.
Digital crosspoint switches are also employed in a variety of applications, including mechanical, medical, audiovisual, and military. This is due to the fact that digital crosspoint switches are capable of handling many protocols, clock sources, and data streams. Chip-to-chip serial lines have been created by semiconductor firms in recent years and have been used in a variety of commercial routers and switches.
For two reasons, a crosspoint switch allows for great performance: first, quicker data transfer and second, high-speed data. The digital crosspoint switch market offers opportunities due to rapid innovation, changing market conditions in the telecommunications industry, and the development of standards.
The Europe Digital Crosspoint Switch Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2027.
MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. (“MACOM”), announced a new family of high-performance, asynchronous, fully non-blocking crosspoint switches to support 4K and 8K ultra-high-definition television (UHDTV). As video content evolves beyond high definition, MACOM’s family of crosspoints support the bandwidth required to transport these higher resolutions.
MACOM’s new MAXP-23008, MAXP-23012 and MAXP-23016 support switch matrix densities of 8×8, 12×12 and 16×16, respectively. The devices operate up to 12.5Gbps, thereby enabling switching and routing of numerous high-resolution video formats, including UHDTV uncompressed serial digital interface (SDI) data rates of 11.88Gbps, High Definition Media Interface (HDMI) 2.1 lane speeds of 12.0Gbps and DisplayPort 1.4 lane rates of 8.1Gbps.
This new family of crosspoint switches further rounds out MACOM’s extensive portfolio for the most complete offering of 12.5Gbps crosspoints in the industry.
