    Nio currently has an R&D facility in San Jose, and the company has already agreed to lease a more than 200,000 square foot structure for its US headquarters and electric car innovation centre. 

     

    Nio is trying to freshen up its organisational structure and increase recruiting in order to develop its business operations in Europe.

     

    The corporation wants to minimise the costs associated with exporting from China, which is the main driver for the decision. In the future, Nio will produce Charging Piles and Battery Swap Stations (BSS) in Europe.

     

     

    EUROPE EV BATTERY SWAPPING NEW LAUNCH

     

    The first battery swap station in Norway has been formally inaugurated by NIO. It is located near the E-18 in Lier, a few miles north of Drammen. After a few months of preparation, the location was ready.

     

    It is the second-generation Power Swap Station 2.0, which contains an empty slot for picking up a depleted battery (or an older/previous-generation battery when upgrading) and 14 battery slots, including 13 battery packs (vs. 5 in the 1.0 version).

     

    The battery swap stations will help with the market introduction of the NIO ES8 model and the subsequent NIO electric vehicles (all are compatible with the battery swap system).
