Vitesco Technology will contribute its "best in class" technologies and processes, while Renault Group will contribute its expertise in electric and hybrid vehicles.
The objective is to create a central electronic device that houses the inverter, on-board charger, and DC-DC converter all in one housing.
For the development of Renault's future cars, notably in terms of passenger capacity and comfort, this "One Box" idea will also offer a hitherto unheard-of gain in compactness and mass.
The different fundamental component combinations and assembly will be adjusted to the various electric and hybrid powertrain types.
