Sensors called flow transmitters have an electrical transmission output that allows for distant flow rate indication. Ultrasonic, Paddlewheel: in-line, adjustable and fixed, Electromagnetic: adjustable, in-line and fixed, and Turbine: in-line are the various transmitters.
Electrical outputs from flow transmitters are proportional to flow inputs. To measure the movement of liquids and gases, they employ flow metres.
