    PRODUCT LAUNCH IN GLOBAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT HVAC MARKET

    In Aug 2019, john Deere launched 744L, 824L and 844L, with Automatic climate control etc.. upgrades to machines HVAC system include a relocation of the AC unit and a brushless fan motor for increased airflow.

     

    In Sep 2020, Case IH introduced new Quadtrac and Steiger AFS Connect series tractors with specific features for the European market. They will have similar cab comfort and control upgrades as on the Magnum AFS Connect series launched earlier in 2019.

     

    In June 2020, Case Construction Equipment’s crawler excavator CX220C was launched. The advanced cabin included features like Auto Climate Control function and air-conditioning system with 25% more airflow with eight vents for better efficiency in higher temperatures and openable roof window to provide better visibility. 

     

    In May 2020, Mahindra launched RoadMaster G90 Comfort+, the first fully designed and manufactured in India product to offer an HVAC cabin on a motor grader. It was introduced keeping in mind the harsh temperature conditions and dusty environments in India.

     

    RECENT PARTNERSHIP IN GLOBAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT HVAC MARKET

TCR’s acquisition is in line with REIC’s plan to expand its specialist rental business, and it provides the company with a well-established HVAC provider in the Mid-Atlantic.

     

     

    COMPETITIVE LANDSCAPE

    Construction equipment sales are an important barometer of global economic activity. The global economic activity has gradually recovered from multi-year lows in March –April 2020 but still remains below pre-COVID-19 levels. 

     

    COVID has drastically impacted sales of construction equipment. For example, Deere & Company global net sales and revenues declined by 11 percent, to $8.9 Billion, in Q3-2020 and declined 12%, to $25.8 Billion, for Jan-Sep 2020. Deere now expects its net income to be about $2.25 billion for 2020 but cautions that uncertainties remain because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

     

    Terex says it anticipates sales in the second half of 2020 to be similar to the first half of 2020, which saw net sales of $1.5 billion, declining by ~38% YOY. 

     

    Caterpillar is not currently providing guidance for the year and warned that it may temporarily suspend operations at additional facilities if business conditions don’t improve. 

     

    Volvo CE’s order intake decreased by 7% and deliveries were down 13%. North America,  saw sales declines of 25 percent, says Volvo CE.  It was the largest decrease throughout the company’s five regions followed by Europe, which declined 20%.
