    In order to deploy TVS Motor Company’s electric vehicles for food delivery, other on-demand services, and other sustainable projects, the two companies have formed a strategic alliance.

     

    Softbank-backed , Swiggy intends to use EVs to make deliveries covering a distance of 800,000 kilometres per day. It has collaborated with the manufacturer of cargo e-cycles, Hero Lectro, to develop end-to-end delivery of Swiggy orders using cargo e-cycles. 

     

    It also signed a contract with Reliance BP Mobility Ltd (RBML) to create an EV ecosystem and battery-swapping stations for its delivery partners. In this regard, trials are currently being on in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and New Delhi.

     

    In a statement, TVS noted that the agreement demonstrates its dedication to advancing electrification across all transportation segments and is consistent with Swiggy’s numerous initiatives to facilitate the adoption of EVs in its delivery fleet.

     

     The implementation of TVS Motor’s EV for food delivery and other on-demand services of Swiggy will be tested as part of the MoU between TVS Motor and Swiggy.

     

    The two businesses are also investigating the possibility of jointly developing comprehensive and sustainable solutions for Swiggy’s delivery partners. 

     

    Working on specialised packages, such as a need-specific product, adaptable financing choices, and related services, will be part of this. Notably, the pilot will be crucial to the adoption of electric vehicles in on-demand and food delivery services.

    Under the partnership, Amazon India has deployed close to a hundred Mahindra Treo Zor EVs in seven major cities, the companies said in a joint statement.
