An electric heating cable, also known as a heat trace cable, is a wire cable that generates heat. Floor heating, heat loss replacement, pipe freeze protection, roof and gutter deicing, and snow melting are just a few of the many uses for heating cable in the home. The Reptile Systems heat cable is built in Europe and is doubly insulated, providing additional layers of protection to the point where it may be left submerged in water for an extended period of time. It also has a current CE safety certification and an IPX8 rating.
Pipes’ temperatures are maintained and raised using electric heat tracing, heat tape, surface heating, or trace heating to avoid freezing. Also known as “trace heating,” this method wraps a heating cable around the length of a pipe to directly provide heat using an electrical heating source. Heat tape uses nine (9) watts on average per linear foot. Turn the heat tape off at the breaker switch or unhook it during the warmer months when there is no snow on the roof. If you want to be sure that heat tape is not on, do not rely on built-in thermostats.
The global heating cable market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
The newest nVent RAYCHEM self-regulating heating cable, the nVent RAYCHEM HTV, was introduced by nVent Electric plc, a leading provider of electrical connection and protection solutions. In demanding industrial applications with high exposure or maintenance temperatures, the new heating cable will be used. The cutting-edge self-regulating heating cable, nVent RAYCHEM HTV, surpasses industry standards for high power retention (HPR) over the course of its design life of more than three decades, meeting strict requirements for maximum process integrity while safeguarding people, processes, and infrastructure.
Previous self-regulating heating wires are outperformed by nVent RAYCHEM HTV in terms of performance and design life. The cable can function at high working temperatures continuously because it was specifically made for high temperature situations. Its power retention levels are unmatched; even after a few years of use, the HTV cable keeps producing power. This not only lowers the likelihood of downtime and maintenance expenses over decades, but also improves factory efficiency and safety.
