    Nichrome introduces a new line of packaging machines: In the next two months, Nichrome India, a packaging machinery manufacturer, will introduce three new packaging technologies. They include machinery for the fast food, pharma and cosmetic sectors.

     

    These machines will be supplied through licence agreements with international partners such as Prodo-Pak in the United States, TOTPACK in Spain, and Sprint Plus. According to a statement issued here, Nichrome stated that foreign technology at Indian prices, backed by a local service provider, was a successful combination.

     

    They also invented and manufactured a novel high speed packaging method for snack items such as wafers, chips, and extruded snacks.

     

    The Sprint Plus continuous motion machine is used for packing snack foods, whilst the machines from Prodo Pak Corporation are used for packaging gels/lotions and edible oils.

     

    The Spanish Totpack machine is designed for Doypack style pouches and can pack a wide range of solid powders, viscous and liquid materials. Nichrome’s manufacturing plant is located in Shirwal, some 40 kilometres south of Pune, and has a current capacity of 500 machines per year.
