Immunofluorescence (IF) is an important immunochemical technique that allows detection and localization of a wide variety of antigens in different types of tissues of various cell preparations. There are two classes of immunofluorescence techniques, primary (or direct) and secondary (or indirect).
Immunofluorescence can be used on tissue sections, cultured cell lines, or individual cells, and may be used to analyse the distribution of proteins, glycans, and small biological and non-biological molecules. This technique can even be used to visualise structures such as intermediate-sized filaments.
Immunofluorescence assay (IFA) is a standard virologic technique to identify the presence of antibodies by their specific ability to react with viral antigens expressed in infected cells; bound antibodies are visualised by incubation with fluorescently labelled anti human antibody.
The principle behind the Immunoassay test is the use of an antibody that will specifically bind to the antigen of interest. The antibodies used in the Immunoassay must have a high affinity for the antigen. The antibodies used in the Immunoassay can either be monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies.
Global immunofluorescence quantitative analyzer market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
