A cannula is a tiny tube that is introduced into the veins or cavities of the human body to inject medicine, remove fluid, or insert a surgical tool.
Cannulas are generally encircled by a trocar needle with an inner and outer surface that permits puncturing the body to get adequate space; they are also known as intravenous IV cannulas.
An arterial cannula is used to inject a catheter into a human artery, most often the radial artery, during major surgeries such as bypass surgery. It is also used to assess blood pressure from beat to beat.
This is a painful process that causes tension and worry. The increased incidence of lifestyle disorders such as obesity and diabetes is boosting the amount of surgical operations performed globally, which is bolstering the expansion of the cannula market.
Furthermore, the expanding elderly population, as well as the growing preference for minimally invasive procedures (MIS), is propelling market expansion.
The India Cannula Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Hindustan Syringes and Medical Devices Ltd (HMD), the world's leading maker of SMART (auto-disable) syringes, has announced the release of the next-generation Cathy Safety IV Cannula with SIP CLIP, which is designed to avoid needle stick injuries.
HMD has committed more than Rs 100 crore in the establishment of a new manufacturing plant in Ballabhgarh to produce the next generation 'Safety IV Cannula with SIP CLIP.'
The 5.5-acre plant will have the capacity to initially produce 36 million units of 'Safety IV Cannula' to meet rising export demand to Europe, which is expected to be around 50 percent, and the balance for domestic demand for its new revolutionary technology, designed to prevent needle-stick injuries, which are very common among patients.
