INTRODUCTION
A power steering system is a mechanical device installed on a vehicle that assists drivers in steering by reducing the amount of steering effort required to turn the steering wheel, making it easier for the vehicle to turn or navigate at lower speed
s. Hydraulic or electric actuators give regulated energy to the steering system, allowing the driver to use less effort to turn the steered wheels when travelling at normal speeds, and significantly reducing the physical effort required to turn the wheels when a vehicle is stopped or going slowly.
Power steering can also be designed to provide artificial feedback on the forces operating on the steered wheels. Electric power steering (EPS) is a critical component of highly automated driving.
INDIA ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The India electric power steering market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
Nexteer Automotive has announced the addition of its new Modular Column-Assist EPS System to its Electric Power Steering (EPS) line (mCEPS). The mCEPS system is available in three models: Basic, Improved, and Pro, and it supports varying load capacities and other needs.
mCEPS Pro, for example, provides SAE automated driving Levels 2 through 5, as well as over-the-air (OTA) updates and cyber security. The electrical/software architecture of the three mCEPS variants is AUTOSAR Version 4.0.
Furthermore, Nexteer's custom-developed, high-performance torque and rotation angle sensors deliver exceptional noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance, as well as a smooth and accurate steering feel, allowing drivers to feel more connected to the road.
Nexteer's mCEPS system opens up new options for vehicle types that have previously relied on traditional CEPS systems. mCEPS, with its platform design and extendable electronic control system, enables us to address the needs of OEM clients for an innovative, customizable, and cost-effective steering system that is flexible to customer packaging and other requirements.'
Nexteer's mCEPS leverages the company's existing, industry-leading EPS building blocks to develop a new solution that is re-configurable and customizable to the OEM's degree of content. This is another example of how we employ their electrical and software knowledge to create customer-focused motion control solutions.'
