    NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH

    To distribute the OEM Hardware business of the software giant, Microsoft Corp. and BAX worldwide have started a five-region worldwide logistics program. Sydney, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Ridderkirk, The Netherlands are among the locations where global logistics centres have begun operations.

     

    With 3,000 pallet roles apiece, Dallas and Ridderkirk are Microsoft’s two biggest operations. 200–500 pallet spots are stored in the other three facilities. A new 42,000 square foot facility in Dallas had to be leased and put into use as part of the launch by BAX.  

     

     According to the two businesses, this is the first time they have simultaneously implemented a logistics and distribution program for their products across so many regions.As a result of the agreement, Microsoft has chosen BAX as a turnkey logistics provider for its OEM Hardware’s global distribution. 

     

     The launch of Microsoft’s most recent Office XP version is one of the Microsoft logistical programs that BAX manages. According to the business, the XP launch required 193 different shipments totaling over 187,000 pounds of software, all of which were successfully delivered on-time in 97 percent of cases during a two-week period.
