Three new ministerial decrees have recently been issued by Kuwait’s Ministry of Health (MOH) to govern the registration and distribution of medical equipment, supplies, and health products as well as to simplify the process of writing prescriptions for medications in both public and private medical facilities.
Registration and distribution of medical devices was the first decree. MOH described ministerial order number as a step toward bringing Kuwaiti medical device regulation and oversight into compliance with international laws and norms, particularly those governing biomedical equipment.
According to how they are used and how their users are affected, medical devices are divided into four categories by the new ministerial decision, which ensures that the regulatory requirements, studies, and registration requirements are appropriate for the category to which the medical device belongs.
The second decree controls the distribution of medical supplies. A ministerial order addresses the control and distribution of medical supplies.
With the help of this decree, Kuwait’s health system will be able to keep up with the evolving laws and regulations that must be followed to regulate the manufacturing and registration of medical items there.
Pharmaceuticals that are used to maintain human health, or to diagnose, prevent, or assist in the treatment of some low-risk illnesses, or to make up for inadequacies in a few physiological activities in the human body, are included among the health products.
Kuwait medical devices market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
