The landing gear system control function regulates the extension and retraction of the landing gear as well as the opening and closing of the landing gear well doors. An aircraft’s landing gear serves as a suspension mechanism for taxiing, taking off, and landing. It is made to diffuse and absorb the kinetic energy of landing impacts, lessening the impact loads that are imparted to the aircraft.
The global landing gear control computer market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
The major design elements of the landing gear that will satisfy Airbus’s future needs are being developed jointly by Liebherr-Aerospace and Airbus under the terms of a long-term collaboration agreement. In order to optimize the design, production, overall development plan, and in-service maintenance of the landing gears that will be fitted to future Airbus aircraft, both parties will work together to determine the key components and important characteristics. Results from specimen and validation tests as well as a pre-industrial demonstrator landing gear will be significant outcomes.
Airbus will bring its extensive expertise in the integration of systems and structural components in the aircraft, while Liebherr will contribute its extensive experience in the design, production, and maintenance of landing gear systems for single-aisle commercial aircraft. For Airbus, Liebherr now provides the A220 landing gears and the A350 nose gear. This partnership will help to advance Airbus’ Digital Design, Manufacturing and Services (DDMS) goals, a digital-first strategy for the development, production, and maintenance of aeronautical goods throughout the Airbus supply chain.
