Electric motors, which rely on modern electrical steel to propel a vehicle forward, cause steel to really “move.” A completely electric automobile weighs between forty and a hundred kg of electrical steel that is not grain oriented.
Electrical steel, a magnetically soft substance, is being strengthened and thinned without impacting its magnetism by steel manufacturers. The overall weight of the motor is thereby reduced.
The movement toward lightweight construction is essential in electric automobiles as well, in order to counteract the still substantial weight of the batteries and lower the overall weight of the car.
The Latin America EV Steel Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2026, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2027.
The first accreditation from ResponsibleSteel was given to ArcelorMittal Tubaro, a steelmaking facility in Latin America. The third-largest Brazilian manufacturer of rolled flat steels is ArcelorMittal Tubaro. For both local and foreign markets, the firm produces flat steel products, notably hot-rolled plates and coils.
Through a network of independent certifying organizations, ResponsibleSteel promotes the certification of steel chain enterprises and establishes worldwide standards for sustainable performance.
There are more than forty members and affiliates of the campaign, including global civil society groups and steel chain enterprises.
The purpose of ResponsibleSteel is to provide high-quality standards, certification, and other tools to enhance responsibly supplied steel, produced steel, used steel, and recycled steel. The creation of this international multi-stakeholder standard and certification program was greatly aided by ArcelorMittal.
