INTRODUCTION
When using the same device for biometric authentication, gesture recognition, etc., RGB-Ir technology enables regular image capture. Modern battery-operated security cameras for smart home systems are the perfect fit for RGB-Ir technology since it can capture both RGB and IR images in one device and enable both day and night vision capabilities.
Advanced unique colour filtering techniques are used in RGB-Ir technology to enhance colour integrity. IR and RGB information are extracted separately by a companion ISP chip and an RGB-Ir image processor.
GLOBAL MEDICAL RGB-IR IMAGE SENSOR MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
The Global Medical RGB-IR Image Sensor market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
The world's first medical RGB-IR image sensor was introduced by OmniVision. In a single CMOS sensor, RGB and infrared monochrome captures are both possible. While IR light is used for endoscopic precancer and cancer detection procedures, surgeons also require RGB light to confirm any abnormalities found using infrared.
Previously, this could only be done by integrating two separate imager sensors, but doing so increased the size, price, and power consumption of the endoscopes and caused the tip to become excessively heated.
To overcome the limitations of a two imager design, the new OH02A1S enables the creators of chip-on-tip endoscopes for cancer detection to do away with a second image sensor. These developments enable the creation of small outer diameter (OD) endoscopes for cancer detection and diagnosis techniques such indocyanine green (ICG), fluorescence, chromo, and virtual endoscopy.
The OH02A1S greatly increases the range and quantity of endoscopic treatments that may be carried out, while also simplifying the design and introducing RGB-IR sensing into disposable endoscopes for the first time at an affordable price.
The surgeon may now choose between high quality RGB and IR images in real time or display both images simultaneously on one (overlay) or two (side-by-side) monitors thanks to OmniVision's OH02A1S image sensor, which enables both IR and RGB images to be collected using a single chip.
