In Morocco, the government is the main source of healthcare, with public hospitals and private clinics. In Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Oujda, and Marrakech, there are five university hospital centres.
The nation also has a separate military healthcare system with six hospitals and a medical centre, along with public hospitals and physicians working in the public sector.
These clinics are primarily located in the regions of Casablanca-Settat and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra.
The main equipment providers are the United States, Germany, and France, although Italy, Turkey, China, and South Korea are becoming more and more competitive.
The Moroccan government intends to create mobile and emergency hospital units, and numerous tenders are anticipated in the future. Notably, in order to improve the quality of the equipment, it is now illegal to import or sell used or refurbished medical devices and equipment.
The Morocco Medical Devices Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
Rabat – The Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Science, Innovation, and Research (MAScIR), which is based in Rabat, has started mass producing its COVID-19 PCR test kits, which are created entirely in Morocco. The Ministry of Health had bought 100,000 units.
Four months after receiving national and international validations for its Sars-CoV2 diagnostic kit, the foundation launched the product.
The foundation was faced with the issue of immediately developing an industrial manufacturing unit after acquiring the validations.
To gauge its production capabilities, MAScIR set a target of generating 10,000 kits. After achieving the objective, the foundation gave the kits to government agencies and gave the start-up Moldiag the job of producing them on a wide scale.
