The Multi-View Camera System (MVCS) improves the driver's awareness of what is in front, alongside, and behind the vehicle under a variety of circumstances.
The driver can use it to park, stop by the side of the road, enter intersections with poor sight, and double-check the route.
Four CCD cameras (located in the front grille, side mirrors on the left and right, and the tailgate) record photos of the area around the car.
The navigation panel shows a bird's eye perspective created by stitching these photographs together. The steering wheel's turning angle is used to calculate the guidance lines that are also shown.
The Global Multi-View Camera market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
In order to reduce blind spots, facilitate smooth parallel or garage parking, and support comfortable and secure driving in a 3-way intersection with limited visibility or on narrow roads, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. announced that it has developed a multi-view camera system that displays views from multiple wide-angle CCD cameras on the vehicle's navigation screen.
The brand-new Odyssey, which is set to hit Japanese shelves, will be the first vehicle to use this revolutionary multi-view camera system.
Four wide-angle CCD cameras are part of the multi-view camera system, and they are mounted on the right and left door mirrors, the front and back of the car, and the sides of the vehicle.
The new system synthesises images from these cameras and displays the synthesised image on the navigation screen along with additional information, such as a projection line that shows the projected trajectory of the vehicle calculated using steering angle information and a reference line that serves as a reference for the distance between the vehicle and approaching obstacles.
As a result, the driver is supported when parking, sight is improved, and collision is avoided when driving in a small space.
Honda has been investigating and developing numerous technologies that improve visibility from the perspective of active safety, based on its distinctive approach to safety. Rear visibility is improved while backing up thanks to Honda's introduction of a rear view camera system.
