A paint protection coating is a crucial chemical layer of defence, typically a paint, wax, or coating, sprayed over the surface of your car to shield it from any external harm. Dust, UV radiation, acid rain, pollutants, and others are examples of the exterior damage-causing factors.
PPF, sometimes known as clear bra, is an amazing thermoplastic polyurethane film that guards against scratches and rock chips on your automobile that are brought on by minute particles, dirt, stones, bird droppings, leaves, or bug splatters.
PPFs will protect your automobile without detracting from its overall appearance and showroom quality, thus its low weight, transparency, and malleability make it the ideal material.
Additionally, some PPFs have a delicate healing coat that gives them the unusual ability to self-heal, either right away or in response to heat. The oxidation caused by UV radiation, chemical stains, mineral stains from rain, and water spots are all resistant to high-quality paint protection films.
One can minimise the effects of surface damage on the paint by applying a layer of paint protection. When one applies a more durable protective layer, this becomes even more obvious because the layer will get scratched before the paint even touches it. As a result, it is simpler to fix and more difficult to harm.
The Global Paint protection coatings Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.
For better automotive paint protection, BASF launches Thermoplastic Polyurethane Paint Protection Film from RODIM.
In Asia Pacific, RODIM, a BASF trademark for paint-related products, has introduced its brand-new invisible Themoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) Paint Protection Film (PPF). It offers comprehensive and durable protection for automobile coatings.
The RODIM TPU PPF is expected to provide car owners with additional protection. It has been demonstrated that the product offers outstanding resistance to the forces of nature, including high temperatures and prolonged sun exposure during an accelerated UV test lasting 3,000 hours.
Insects, bird droppings, tree sap, bugs, acid rain, and other substances that might produce stains on the surface of a car can all be efficiently avoided by using RODIM TPU PPF. The film has great self-healing capabilities when there are minor scuffs or scratches because TPU is used in its production.
It also has a strong resistance to yellowing. Because the substance is optically transparent, vehicle surfaces can be kept in perfect condition for a long time.
According to the Director, Business Management, Automobile Refinish Coatings Solutions Greater China, BASF, who emphasised the strategic importance of PPF to the company, "due to the increasing demand from their clients in China, BASF decided to make a new attempt by developing RODIM TPU PPF to widen their product range and better serve the aftermarket automotive industry."
