The Panama government is examining a draft Biz Latin Hub to promote electric mobility in ground transportation.
The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the expansion of electric mobility in the Republic of Panama, and the use of renewable energy as a tool for the energy transition in ground transportation networks are the main goals of this public policy.
In Panama, electric vehicles will account for sales. Electric cars will make up 20% of fleets in the private sector.
The National Electric Mobility Strategy states that less vehicles sold are hybrid or electric. There is an intriguing possibility to enter the game and compete in Panama's market.
The Panama Electric Vehicle Market Accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
In Panama and Central America, BYD launches a fleet of all-electric cabs.
In collaboration with ENSA Servicios and TRASERVI, BYD has proudly unveiled the first all-electric taxi fleet in Panama and Central America in the City of Colón.
In order to lay a strong basis for boosting electric transportation in Panama, the three firms together officially opened the nation's first rapid charging station for electric taxis in the Colón area.
The charging station, which is outside ENSA's regional offices in the city's Arco Iris neighbourhood, can assist regional carriers in transitioning to emissions-free electric mobility. Additionally, ENSA will provide a fleet of six electric buses to Ruta Urbana de Colón, a local operator with immediate ambitions to fully electrify about 100 buses.
Additionally, BYD announced the signing of a collaboration deal with local bus operators MiBus and ENSA Servicios to introduce its K9 pure electric bus to Panama City as part of a six-month trial programme that would integrate the K9 into the city's public transportation system.
