    The Northern Ireland-based maker of pharmaceutical packaging and equipment has introduced the EZ Blister, which uses forming, sealing, and cutting procedures to ensure packs have the same quality and integrity as those produced on large blister packaging lines.

     

    Blister trays or cards are thermoformed or cold formed to the exact specifications of the product, sealed with pre-cut pieces of lidding material using knurled or flat hot sealing plates, then cut and perforated using a precision die-cutter.

     

    This small, adaptable device can package tablets, capsules, ampoules, and other items. Sepha stated that the new machine will meet the needs of larger pharmaceutical manufacturers and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) – demand for small batches of pharmaceuticals and medical devices has exploded in recent years, and these businesses are struggling to accommodate increasingly frequent requests for low volumes on their high-speed blister lines.
