Packaging constructed of PHA (Polyhydroxyalkanoates), a type of biodegradable plastic, is produced using natural materials including vegetable oils and starches. Some microbes manufacture the PHA family of biodegradable polymers as a means of storing energy and carbon.
These plastics are an environmentally benign substitute for conventional plastics made of petroleum because they are biodegradable, or able to be broken down by environmental microbes.
PHA bioplastic packaging is becoming more well-liked as a greener option than traditional plastic packaging. It is employed in many different contexts, including bags, disposable utensils, and food packaging.
PHA bioplastic packaging can totally and safely decompose into natural constituents like carbon dioxide, water, and biomass because it is both biodegradable and compostable.
The Global PHA Bioplastic Packaging Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
PHACT® Marine Biodegradable Polymers have been introduced by CJ BIO, a part of South Korean company CJ CheilJedang, based on its unique polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) technology. The core of the PHACT brand is becoming a part of the solution to reverse the trend of the plastic pollution problem and protect the environment.
With its comprehensive PHA technology platform, CJ Bio is dedicated to producing eco-friendly solutions under the moniker PHACT, which stands for PHA + Act.
The first item in the new range, PHACT A1000P, is an amorphous PHA made at CJ BIO's recently opened plant in Pasuruan, Indonesia. This is the only amorphous PHA available for now.
Amorphous PHA, which is softer and more rubbery than the crystalline or semi-crystalline variants that now rule the PHA market, offers fundamentally different performance characteristics.
For its initial uses, PHACT A1000P will be added to existing biodegradablepolymers and biopolymers to enhance their functionality and processing properties and to speed up the biodegradation or composting of these goods.
PHACT has received biodegradability certification for use in soil (ambient), marine, and industrial compost environments. It can be composted at home because it doesn't need specialized machinery or high temperatures to break down completely.
