INTRODUCTION
Boring bar with piezoelectric control for active error correction. The boring bar holder is subjected to computer-controlled piezoelectric actuator action, which enables cutting tool displacements brought on by immediate cutting force to be automatically adjusted.
In order to correct the forced displacement of the boring bar, PID control algorithms are created to concurrently monitor the cutting force and activate the piezoelectric actuator. Results from cutting trials and off-line simulations showed that error correction is successful in machining with varied cut depths.
A sensor that is subjected to the cutting force is used as the tool breakage, wear, and control monitor. The sensor, which makes use of the piezoelectric effect, is situated on the drill's shank where it connects to the spindle.
The sensor is parallel to the drill's axis. The sensor counts the number of radial forces acting on the drill, or it may be positioned to count both radial and axial forces. The sensor's electrical signal is sent to evaluating circuitry, which contrasts it with a set of stored references. The output of the comparator is either displayed or sent to the machine tool's control system.
GLOBAL PIEZOELECTRIC BORING MACHINE MARKET SIZE AND FORECAST
Global piezoelectric boring machine market accounted for $XX Billion in 2022 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2023 to 2030.
NEW PRODUCT LAUNCH
The P311A line of low-cost, tough piezoelectric accelerometers has been introduced, according to Advanced Sensors Calibration (ASC) GmbH, and is intended for vibration monitoring in industrial settings.
The introduction of the P311A series is in line with ASC's ambition to establish itself as a leading German vibration sensing partner. Accelerometers ASC's current lineup of general-purpose, high-temperature, and miniature grade piezoelectric accelerometers will be complemented by the affordable, tough P311A family of industrial piezoelectric accelerometers.
The ASC P311A15, which comes in two versions, has a side-exit 2-pin MIL-C-5015 connector, whereas the ASC P311A25 has a top-exit MIL connector. The integrated electronics piezoelectric (IEPE) sensors employed in the accelerometers may operate across a broad frequency range, from 0.2 Hz to 10 kHz.
The sensors employ a two-wire coaxial connection for power input and signal output and run on a constant-current supply. The ASC P311A15 and P311A25 are built of piezoelectric crystals and have a tough, corrosion- and chemical-resistant stainless steel housing. The sensors can work between -55 °C and +140 °C, are IP68-sealed against the environment, and can endure shocks of up to 5000g.
