Plasma cleaning is the process of cleansing surfaces of impurities and pollutants using an intense plasma or dielectric barrier discharge. It effectively clears mineral debris from surfaces and removes surface oxidation. Additionally, it is used to clean ceramics and prepare the surfaces of plastics and elastomers.

Along with cleaning metal surfaces, it is also used to clean the surface of glass. During this procedure, a chemical interaction between the ionised gas and dirt particles removes the dirt particles. The constant gas flow that was added to the vacuum chamber moves the dirt particles that are currently in the gas phase outside of the chamber.

The surface is bombarded by gas ions, which remove the dirt from the surface and move it along with the gas flow. Clean and clear of residue is the surface. For cleaning large quantities of small items, including pellets or powder, a revolving drum plasma cleaner is the best option. Even automatic removal and conveyor belt transportation of the components is a possibility.

Damage-free plasma chemical treatment is used in samco-ucp single-substrate plasma cleansers. A hollow cathode source powered by RF is used to excite the process gas. Sensitive substrates are successfully insulated from the primary RF plasma through remote plasma processing.

The Global plasma cleaner market accounted for $XX Billion in 2023 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2024 to 2030.

Tabletop plasma cleaning devices using parallel-plate direct plasma include the PC-300 and PC-1100. The devices can be utilised to remove organic and inorganic contaminants from samples with surfaces such as plastic packaging, LCD substrates, multi-chip modules, and hybrid ICs.

Other uses include the removal of ink, surface activation, and wettability enhancement. A plasma cleaner specifically created for Aqua Plasma treatment, which employs water as the process gas, is the AQ-2000.

The system can bind and modify polymer surfaces to create microfluidic devices. The technique also allows the cleaning of metal surfaces without surface oxidation or redeposition, which are common process difficulties in traditional O2 or Ar plasma treatment. The special method works well for cleaning electrodes and copper/silver lead frames.

We believe the semiconductor industry is likely to see green shoots of recovery but supply chain issues and inventory glut could restrict high growth

The European Chips Act allocated over €43 billion ($45.8 Billion) in public and private investments to double Europe’s global semiconductor market share from 10% to 20% by 2030.

Major semiconductor companies like Bosch, Intel, and TSMC have announced new investments and projects in Europe to increase their global market presence which will boost the overall market

The U.S. CHIPS and Science Act’s $5 billion investment aims to drive innovation and bolster America’s competitiveness in the vital semiconductor industry.

Global semiconductor manufacturing equipment sales contracted 6.1% in 2023 from a record $107.4 billion in 2022. It is expected to see growth in 2024 but not to the 2022 levels.
