High-performance engineering thermoplastic polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) is distinguished by an uncommon mix of characteristics
These characteristics include good electrical insulating qualities, dimensional stability, and high-temperature performance.
A semi-crystalline, high-temperature engineering thermoplastic is polyphenylene sulphide (PPS). It has a high melting temperature and is a stiff, opaque polymer.
Para-phenylene units and sulphide connections alternate within it. Additionally, it is simple to produce and becomes tougher at high temperatures.
These advantages make polyphenylene sulphide a preferred substitute for metals and thermosets in a variety of applications, including the manufacture of appliances, electronics, and automobile parts.
DSM, a Dutch multinational company with operations in the fields of health, nutrition, and materials, and Zhejiang NHU Special Materials Co Ltd (NHU), a manufacturer of speciality chemicals, have launched a joint venture company called DSM NHU Engineering Plastics Zhejiang Co Ltd to produce polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) compounds.
A JV for the production of high-performance compounds has been established in Zhejiang province, next to NHU’s linear PPS polymer facility in Shangyu.
Utilizing time-tested technology, NHU’s PPS polymer facility produces high-quality base polymer for the compounds. The joint venture will replace NHU’s current capacity for compounding.
For its part, DSM offers access to its extensive network of customers as well as its deep knowledge in application development and materials science.
The Global Polyphenylene Sulfide Engineering Plastic Market accounted for $XX Billion in 2021 and is anticipated to reach $XX Billion by 2030, registering a CAGR of XX% from 2022 to 2030.
