    Pore pressure is the pressure of the fluid in the pore space of the rock, and as mentioned above, when it exceeds the hydrostatic pressure, overpressure situation occurs.


    Pore pressure gauge, instrument for measuring the condition of a fluid (liquid or gas) that is specified by the force that the fluid would exert, when at rest, on a unit area, such as pounds per square inch or newtons per square centimetre.


    Pore water pressures under unsaturated conditions are measured with tensiometers, which operate by allowing the pore water to come into equilibrium with a reference pressure indicator through a permeable ceramic cup placed in contact with the soil.


    The Pore Pressure Gauge works on the principle of the piezoresistive effect of monocrystalline silicon. Four equivalent semiconductor resistors are installed in a specific direction of the silicon diaphragm and connected to the Wheatstone bridge.


    When the diaphragm of the transducer is affected by external pressure and the Wheatstone bridge is out of balance, the output voltage proportional to the measured pressure was obtained by adding the exciting power supply to the Wheatstone bridge.
